Augmented Reality

 Today is a very different day because for the first time I got to use augmented reality for a project. I was already familiar with augmented reality. By spawning lions or dogs into my room, I know how it works and what it does. In this project I used canva to create handouts and worksheets to guide students on how to travel Milan. I found 360 videos for some of the places and a museum tour. Google arts and culture, YouTube were my main source of tools. I found it hard to embed a QR code into a photo so I just used a small QR code image. I will also upload a video on how to use the QR code to go to the links.

Flipped Grammar Teaching Video

 Hello everyboy, today I am back with another task. On this week's task, we were asked to create another video explaning a grammar subject. We explanied will and be going to. We used an image and then I edited words on to that image to create a classroom-like enviroment. I feel like our editing is starting to improve which is great. We used the Movavi video editor. Kutay prepared a quiz related to the grammar subject. We both narrated the video. This time we didn't put too much time on trying to find the perfect animations instead we focused on the content. I am personlly very proud of the video we created. Since I have the editing app, I do the editing but we always plan together.I really had fun making this video.

If you want to check our video, click here.

Also check out my partner Kutay's blog.

Here's the link to the image I found.

Lastly here's the quiz we preapered using quizizz.com There was also a link to the interactive quiz but it is not avaliable because it had a time limit.

Flipped Vocabulary Task

On today's task, we were asked to create a teaching video including animations for fifth grade children. I think showing videos for young learners is a great way to get children's attention and help them focus. When we made the video, we couldn't find a website to create our video so we found some animations online and tried to put them together. It was very difficult to do so because I am not good at editing but still, I tried my best. We spent a week for finding the animations that have the same style and for ten animals, it can be a tiring process. We then recorded our voices for the ten animals. We uploaded the video on the streaming platform YouTube and excluded it from the public.

Getting Back!

Introduction

Well as you know, last year I had a course called "Educatinal Technologies" and our instructor wanted us to create a blog and at the end of the course I said goodbye to this blog. This semester I have a new course called "Material Design" so our insturctor wanted us to cotinue the blog and post our given tasks here. I will probably post worksheets, how to create materials for your students etc.

So happy to be back again!

Language Awarness Task

The first task was to create a language awarness task using any corpus with a partner. In this task, We had to prepare a worksheet using corpus. The worksheet could be about confused grammar or vocabulary items so we chose the difference between "get" and "take". Students can easily search take and get and see the differences by looking at different examples.

If you want to check out my partner Kutay's blog click here.

Also here's the worksheet you can click on them to see them better;

This Is A Goodbye... (Final Post)

    Every thing has a start and an end. I started this blog on  9 November 2020 and I've had so much memories while making content for this blog. I want to talk about education and technology for the last time. Before I started this blog, I always knew that technology and education were great combination. I mean we live in 21st century and technology has affected everthing. However, what I didn't know was that education and technology is almost inseparable now. I get to learn with so many different tools that I didn't know existed. If I ever become a teacher, I will definitely use some of the tools to make my teaching better.  I now have the ability to contribute my teaching with technology thanks to this blog and this course.

    Considering the tasks, I really enjoyed the magazine cover one because I was able to create what I had in mind and I was in control. I feel like homeworks shouldn't be just what the teacher commands instead, It should also be about getting the students attention by giving them freedom. I didn't really enjoy group projects because it was hard for me to find partners since I am a transfer student from another university so I don't know a lot of people.  Lastly I feel like since we are Elt studetns, we should know what is going on around world and keep up with the technology. That is why we are taking this course in the first place.

    Anyways, It was a really great and fun journey and I feel kinda sad to end this blog. I don't like goodbyes or sad endings so I'm just going to say a big GOODBYE!

How to Skateboard-DS

Hello everyone,
In today's task I was asked to prepare a digital story. I chose to teach skateboarding. I started skating 2 months ago and I wanted to share this experince. I used Movavi Video Editor because it was simple and easy to use. It is a great tool but you have to pay for it if you don't want a huge watermark on your video. Luckly my friend has the premium version so I was relieved.  I added transitions and the app's music. I feel like in the future some homeworks will include digital storytelling because learning editing can actually make a lot of money. Of course this is my first editing a video so the editing looks very amateur. Teaching kids how to edit by giving them homework will probably a stable homework in to the future.

Anyways here's the video, hope you enjoy!

Infographic

Today, I was asked to create an infographic. It was the hardest task so far. I had to get information about covid and then make it look appealing. Don't get me wrong I had fun but still it was hard. The hardest part was to make the template. I tried really hard but ended up using pre-made.I used "easel.ly" and just like the name, it was super easy. I think more and more people should start using infographics to teach.

Here is the infographic;
